Duplin heads to Iraq

Marlborough - Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class David L. Duplin has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition forces in Iraq.

Duplin, an infantryman platoon sergeant with 21 years of military service, is assigned to Headquarters 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment, Worcester, Mass.

His wife, Karen, is the daughter of Richard and Judith O'Brien of Dudley Street in Marlborough.
