Helen S. DeSiata, 81

Westborough – Helen S. (Francis) DeSiata, 81, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 at UMass Memorial Healthcare after an illness. Her former husband, Frank DeSiata, Westborough's Veterans Agent, passed away in 2006.

She leaves her son, Frank DeSiata, Westborough's Recreation Director, and his wife, Karen; her daughters, Donna Sprague and her husband, Robert, and Gail Blanchette and her husband, Richard; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her son, David DeSiata, passed away in 1997.

Born in Quincy, the daughter of Hugo and Ingrid (Ostman) Francis, she had lived the past 58 years in Westborough.

Mrs. DeSiata worked as a waitress at the former Gendron's Bakery and the former Cow Shed, both in Westborough. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary at the V.F.W. Post 9013 in Westborough.

Funeral services were held Oct. 22 from the Britton-Summers Funeral Home of Westborough, with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made the Westborough Food Pantry, P.O. Box 502, Westborough, MA 01581.
