Area March of Dimes walk set for April

Region – The March of Dimes has renamed its annual fund-raising walk from WalkAmerica to March for Babies to make the clear connection to what the organization is about – the health of babies.

Last year, the event raised $117 million.

This year, the March for Babies will take place in Worcester Sunday April 20 at 9 a.m. at City Hall. Those interested in raising money to help pay for research and education programs aimed at helping women have healthy babies can sign up immediately. Last year 800 people participated in the Worcester walk, raising $150,000.

Interested walkers and donors can visit marchforbabies. org or call 800-525-9255 to sign up as an individual, to start a corporate, family or friend team, or to donate.
