The world as a ‘village’
Shrewsbury – (l to r) Calvin Coolidge School students Somil Jain, Logan Desilets and Sam Mack, author David Smith, and students Zitong Su, Mamadou Cisse, Katie Tarr and Srinidhi Raghav hold some of the versions of Smith's book "If the World were a Village, A Book about the World's People," during the author's visit to the school in January.
The book has been published in 15 foreign languages and explores facts about the "global village," including population numbers and the diversity of languages, religions and customs of the world. It inspired projects throughout the school as students worked on projects relative to the subject of the global village.
