Boy Scouts to host 39th annual pancake breakfast

Southborough - Southborough Boy Scout Troop 1 will host its 39th annual "All You Can Eat" pancake breakfast at the Neary School, Parkerville Road, Sunday March 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The annual breakfast served nearly 500 people last year. Proceeds from the event help fund the troop's activities such as camping, hiking, cycling, canoeing, summer camp and various community service projects.

"These activities help the boys build character and discipline, while learning new skills," Scoutmaster Marc Cascio said. "The scouts also learn how to cope with emergencies and to work with their family, neighbors and peers."

The public is invited to the breakfast.

"This is a great activity for the scouts," Cascio said. "They … man the griddles, serving lines and dishwasher on the day of the event."

Tickets are $5 (seniors and children ages 6 to 12, $3) and can be purchased from Troop 1 Boy Scouts or at the door. For tickets or more information, contact Lesa Purpura at 508-820-0058.
