Dorothy E. Hinckley, 84

Marlborough - Dorothy E. (Pitard) Hinckley, 84, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare. She was the wife of the late David Hinckley, who died in 1991.

She leaves her brothers, Ernest Pitard, Leonard Pitard, Albert Pitard and Charles Pitard, and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Born in Hudson, the daughter of Henry and Beatrice (Gagne) Pitard, she had lived in Marlborough for most of her life. She was a graduate of the former St. Michael's Academy in Hudson and of Wilfred's School of Hairdressing in Worcester.

Mrs. Hinckley was a hairdresser and manager for many years at a beauty salon in Concord. Later in life, she ran the beauty salon at Deaconess Nursing Home in Concord, retiring in 1998 at the age of 75.

She was a member of St. Matthias Church and the Marlboro Senior Citizens. She loved to travel, visit with her brother in California, and was an avid walker.

Funeral services were held march 27 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at St. Mary Cemetery.
