Students to perform ‘Back to the ’80s’ this weekend

Shrewsbury – Dan Freeman, Nick Porter, Brendan Freeman and Mary Miller rehearse for this weekend's performances of "Back to the '80s." The musical is a production of the Shrewsbury Summer Music Theatre (SSMT), which is a two-week program open to students 13 to 18 years old.

This year's production features 60 cast and crew members, under the direction of Michael Lapomardo, with Bonnie Narcisi- Gorey as music director. Choreographers are Matt Morgera and Kira Cowan. This is the SSMT's fifth production.

Performances are Friday June 27 and Saturday June 28 at 7 p.m. at Oak Middle School Auditorium, which is air conditioned. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. For ticket information, call 508-841-8826. Tickets will also be available at the door.
