Marlene R. Fernald, 71

Sterling – Marlene R. (Roland) Fernald, 71, formerly of Marlborough for over 40 years, died at home Sunday, July 13, 2008, surrounded by her family, with the assistance of Hospice Care.

She leaves her husband, Paul Fernald, and her children, Chuck Leahy and his wife, Jayne; Michael Leahy and his fiancé, Kelly O'Hare; and Kathi Bailey and her husband, Tim. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jessica Leahy, Deirdre Bailey, Chucky Leahy Jr., Meghan Leahy, Taylor Leahy and Gwen Bailey. She will be forever in the hearts of her family.

Mrs. Fernald was born in Keene, N.H., the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Tenney) Roland, and worked for many years at the Honeywell Corp. She was a strong and courageous woman.

Funeral services and burial were private and under the direction of the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough. Memorial donations may be made to the Levine Cancer Center (Gynecology/Oncology Department), 33 Kendall St., Worcester, MA 01605.
