Phyllis Broccolo, 94


Westborough – Phyllis "Nana" (Franco) Broccolo, 94, formerly of Huntington Beach and Montebello, Calif., died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at the Willows in Westborough. Her husband of 47 years, Frank A. Broccolo, died in 1982.

She is survived by her sons, Frank Broccolo and his wife, Patricia, and Richard Broccolo and his fiancée, Diane; her daughter, Mary Ann Hamman and her husband, Donald; six grandchildren; and two greatgranddaughters.

Born and raised in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Capparelli) Franco, she lived in California for 60 years. Prior to moving to California, she and her husband owned and operated a grocery store in Chicago, Ill.

Mrs. Broccolo's greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and greatgranddaughters. She was also a gifted artist, enjoying both oil painting and ceramics.

A funeral mass will be held in Montebello, Calif., with burial in Resurrection Cemetery, South San Gabriel, Calif. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough is assisting the family with arrangements.
