Westborough – The Boroughs Family Branch of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts held a groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 13. The ceremony heralded the start of construction of the branch's new Wellness Center.

Attendees included the YMCA's many benefactors and community leaders, including State Rep. Karyn E. Polito, R-Shrewsbury. Representatives from Avidia Bank, Ball Financial, Curry Printing and Marlborough Savings Bank were all on hand to throw the first shovelful of dirt.

As she spoke, Kathryn Zingg Hunter, president and CEO of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, pointed to the group of more than 100 children who had just

nished their rendition of the song "YMCA."

"As you can see behind you, that's why we are here," she said.

The families, the children, the connection to the community."
