Breaking away

Shrewsbury – Shrewsbury High running back Hunter Beckmann (No. 2) breaks away from a pack of North Middlesex defenders during his 63-yard touchdown run during the game between the teams Sept. 19 at Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury won the game, 48-17. The Colonials were led by quarterback Nate Theodoss, who threw for a pair of scores – a 60-yarder to Paul Tizzano and a 54-yarder to Richie Dube. Also scoring touchdowns for Shrewsbury, in addition to Beckmann, Tizzano and Dube, were Hussein Yatim on a 27-yard run, Paul Panerelli on a 10-yard run, Michael Paulina on a 35-yard run, and Jordan Knowles on a 39-yard run. The Colonials improved to 1-1 with the victory.
