Joseph A. Stark, 92

Hudson – Joseph A. Stark, 92, died Monday Oct. 20, 2008, at the Sterling Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Rita (Chartier) Stark, who died in January 2007.

He is survived by his son, Richard Stark, and his wife, Diane, and his two grandsons, Stephen and Andrew Stark. He was predeceased by his son Paul Stark in 1977.

Born in Hudson, the son of Andrew and Catherine (Kasteko) Stark, he was a lifelong resident of the town. He attended local schools and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Mr. Stark was employed by the Hudson Light and Power Department for many years as a linesman until his retirement. He was a life member of the Hudson VFW and the last surviving member of the VFW National Champion Drum and Bugle Corps of Hudson, which was won in New Orleans when he was a young adult. He was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Hudson.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 23 from St. Michael's Church, with burial at St. Michael's Cemetery. The Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson assisted with arrangements.
