Daniel Moulton, 68
Northborough – Daniel Moulton, 68, formerly of Westborough, died Wednesday Dec. 17, 2008, at home. He was the husband of Patricia (Pilecki) Moulton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Daniel E. Moulton and Mark Moulton and his wife, Chilli; his daughter, Kristen Morrissey and her husband, Kenny; and his grandchildren, Ryan Moulton, Samantha Moulton, Maxwell Moulton and Kenny Morrissey.
Born April 27, 1940 in Providence, R.I., he was the son of Sullivan Daniel Moulton Jr. and Gladys Dorothy (Rudowski) Howland. He was raised in Warwick, R.I. and graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School in June 1958. He has been a resident of Northborough for 13 years, previously living in Westborough.
Mr. Moulton joined the U.S. Navy in June 1959 and attended the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Bainbridge, Md. In June 1960, he won a Fleet appointment to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., where he graduated from in 1964.
His first assignment was on the carrier USS Lake Champlain, stationed at Quonset Point, R.I. His next assignment was on the destroyer USS Charles P. Cecil, stationed at Newport, R.I. During this assignment, the ship was deployed to participate in the Vietnam conflict. His final assignment in the Navy was as a Staff Operation Officer to a Commodore in charge of three guided missile destroyers and frigates.
Mr. Moulton resigned his commission in June 1969 and joined IBM in Burlington, Vt. He spent the next 25 years in various technical and management positions in several New England locations, retiring in 1995.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed making furniture and woodworking, and spending time with his family.
