Northborough/Southborough – Algonquin Regional High School's (ARHS) Sam Friday attracts a host of Fitchburg High defenders as she drives to the basket for two of her nine points in the Tomahawks' 49-33 win Jan. 24 in Northborough. Red Raider defenders attempting in vain to stop Friday are Rebecca Fluet (11), Shauna Lydon (3), Haley McNamara (23) and Jill Smith (20).

Jen Ballen led ARHS in scoring with 11 points, Molly Wraight added 10, Sarah Dahlstrom nine, Liz Conti six and Chelsea Andre two.

The Tomahawks improved to 8-3 overall and 7-0 in the Mid-Wachusett A with the win, while Fitchburg fell to 1-7 overall, 1-5 in league play with the loss.
