New Chipotle Mexican Grill to hold fund-raiser, offer free burritos

Shrewsbury – With a Chipotle (chi-POAT-lay) Mexican Grill recently opened in two neighboring towns, Westborough (1 Oak St.) and Marlborough (237 Boston Post Road West), another is scheduled to open Friday April 3 at 97 Boston Turnpike (Quinsigamond Plaza) in Shrewsbury.

To celebrate, the Shrewsbury grand opening will be preceded by two pre-opening events. The first will benefit the Shrewsbury High School athletic programs, with a $5 donation getting a big gourmet burrito or salad or order of tacos or a burrito bowl and a large fountain drink. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event, Wednesday April 1 from 5 to 8 p.m., will go to the athletic programs.

On Thursday, April 2 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., Chipotle will host a Free Burrito Day, serving up its gourmet burritos along with a large fountain drink absolutely free.

The restaurant will open to the public Friday April 3, when it offers its entire menu of award-winning gourmet burritos, tacos and salads along with fountain drinks and a selection of juices, IZZY sodas, Mexican beers and margaritas.
