Resident supports MacIsaac for Board of Selectmen

To the Editor:

Andy MacIsaac is a new kind of candidate for the board of selectman position that will be voted on this May 5th in Shrewsbury. Andy has been educated locally at Assumption College and received his Master's at Harvard University. He is currently a senior marketing manager at IBM and is a member of the Green Gov Initiative. Andy represents a refreshing change from politics as usual in Shrewsbury and he is markedly diff erent from the 2 opposing candidates. His own philosophical view of active government will put Shrewsbury in sync with the more progressive communities in our state and country.

Andy MacIsaac is highly motivated to connect our town to the current movement to conserve energy (and tax dollars) and to engage more of our citizenry in politics and government. Even in these difficult economic times, there are environmental challenges that need to be addressed by our town leadership. Mr. MacIsaac plans to take advantage of state and federal grants and other sources of revenue to help us decrease our usage of fossil fuels. At the same time, our town will realize a saving in its operating expenses. Mr. MacIsaac also has a number of other cost saving and revenue generating practical plans that address our current fiscal problems and will strengthen our schools. Finally Mr. MacIsaac has a personal history of sensitivity and outreach to the disadvantaged, and as selectman he will lead us in volunteerism and political action at the state and federal level on their behalf.

I encourage the voters of Shrewsbury to contact Mr. MacIsaac and to familiarize yourself with his dramatically diff erent approach to leadership in our town. His contact info is on the web. http:// www.macisaac4selectman.org or telephone Andy at 508845-2864. Please remember to vote Tuesday May 5 for Andy MacIsaac. Sincerely, Dr. Andrea J. Pereira Shrewsbury
