Students place at science fair
Shrewsbury – Eight students, Lubana Afreen, Sean Horan, Zak King, Nidhee Krishnan, Ruby Lee, Ahbinav Mishra, Sunanda Sharma and Kefu Zhou, recently represented Shrewsbury High School in the Massachusetts State Science and Engineering Fair (MSSEF) at MIT. The following students placed in their divisions:
Ahbinav Mishra, with "Construction and Characterization of a Natural Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell," took first place.
Sunanda Sharma, with "Investigations in Perceived Information Processing," took first place.
Lubana Afreen, with "Development of a Reporter Assay to Study Gene Silencing by mi- RNA," took third place.
Nidhee Krishnan, with "Adaptive Algorithm for Routing Through Split-Aggregated Networks," took third place.
Ruby Lee, with "Liquid Crystals for Biomaterials: Click Chemistry Synthesis and Characterization," took third place.
It was Sharma's second consecutive year and Lee's third consecutive year placing at the MSSEF.
