Southborough to hold special Town Meeting

Southborough – Southborough will hold a special Town Meeting Tuesday Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. at Trottier Middle School, at 49 Parkerville Rd.

At the meeting, voters will decide on 13 warrant articles, including one for the appropriation of up to $990,000 for a new ladder truck for the Fire Department and $33,500 for a Ford Explorer for the police chief.

Other warrant articles include raising the amount seniors can work off their property tax liability; changes to the code for the “Dogs and Other Animals” section, including license fees; the requirement that future Medicare-eligible retiree transfer to a Medicare Supplemental Health plan off ered by the town; replacement of the “Door-to-Door Solicitation” code; and the imposition of an additional $300 fine for public consumption of marijuana.
