Town agency to hold depression screening day

Westborough – Westborough Youth and Family Services and the Assabet Valley Pastoral Counseling Center are cosponsoring National Depression Screening Day Thursday Oct. 8. National Depression Screening Day off ers the community an opportunity for free, confidential screenings with mental health counselors.

The program screens participants of any age for several treatable mental health disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorders. Both those who feel in need of a mental health screening as well as those concerned about a family member are welcome.

Screenings will be in the Forbes Municipal Building, 45 West Main St., Room 21, the Westborough Youth and Family Services offices.

Confidential appointments can be arranged by calling 508- 366-3090. Appointments will be between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Appointments take about 30 minutes and involve completing a brief questionnaire and discussing the results with a counselor.
