Tatnuck Bookseller, Gift Gallery & Café

Westborough – There is something special about a community bookstore. Something that causes patrons to drop by for no particular reason … perhaps to browse the latest arrivals, sit for a spell with a special book and a coff ee or just to soak in the relaxing atmosphere.

The owners of Tatnuck Bookseller, Gift Gallery and Café are book people and they felt strongly that this community needed just such a store. While some people choose to order books through a website, there are many who prefer to drop in simply because they love the bookstore experience — these are the folks Tatnuck was designed for.

According to Tatnuck owner Eugene Colangelo, the area was in need of just such a place.

“The Westborough Shopping Center has a diverse selection of stores but we really felt that the region needed a top quality bookstore,” he explained. “We were out to provide more than just a great shopping experience, we wanted to create a cultural center where local people and groups could congregate and share in a sense of community.”

True to its mission as a community bookstore, Tatnuck features a full calendar of cultural and entertainment events ranging from author signings to interactive children’s events.

In addition, Tatnuck has established a spacious community room that is available at no charge to local groups. On any given month the room will feature a wide range of events, including musical performances and author signings, as well as meetings and fundraisers. Those interested in using the room or attending an event can log on to www.tatnuck.com and click on “events” to find out what’s on the schedule or to plan an event.

Along with its enormous selection of books, Tatnuck has also established one of the premiere gift departments in the region. With items ranging from fine collectibles to children’s gifts, the Tatnuck Gift Gallery has become a very popular spot as people seek unique gifts for the holidays.

Among the well known lines featured are, Lenox, Crabtree and Evelyn, Godiva, Willow Tree and Yankee Candle, to name a few. To welcome customers both new and old to Tatnuck’s Gift Gallery the store is off ering 30% off any single item from its gift department. The coupon is available within this week’s Community Advocate.

Those seeking a special children’s gift will appreciate Tatnuck’s vast selection of educational toys and games. From puzzles to magic sets, plush animals to classic games, Tatnuck features a truly remarkable array. Each item in the department has been selected with the goal of making learning a fun experience. Tatnuck also features an expansive selection of classic and contemporary greeting cards for every occasion.

For many customers, nothing is more relaxing than checking out the latest novel over a piping hot cappuccino with a sumptuous dessert or a freshly made sandwich and a bowl of piping hot soup. For those customers, the Tatnuck Café is the perfect spot.

With fresh gourmet coffees from Red Barn coffee and freshly made soups, sandwiches and desserts, the Tatnuck Café is the ideal place to grab a relaxing meal while enjoying the latest book.

To celebrate the arrival of the holiday season, Santa will be at Tatnuck on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.. As a way of welcoming all his young friends Santa will have a free gift for every child who comes by to visit.

The Tatnuck Bookseller, Gift Gallery and Cafe is located at the intersection of Route 9 and Lyman Street in the Westborough Shopping Center. The store can be found online at www.tatnuck.com
