495 Truck Center

Marlborough – For more than 20 years, the Cappello family has owned and operated 495 Truck Center, meeting the needs of owners of medium-sized, commercial and heavy-duty trucks, buses, tractors and trailers. Chuck Cappello and his wife, Penny, owners and operators of Cappello Trucking since 1964, took advantage of the opportunity to purchase 495 Truck Center in the late 1980s, according to their son Jim Cappello, because it would be a perfect match for their trucking business, providing the parts and service needed for their fleet of trucks.

“We’re a full-service truck center,” Jim said. “We off er a full repair service, 24-hour road service, on-site mobile repair and preventive maintenance service, on-site mobile state inspection service and a parts store. We specialize in trusted brands of quality parts such as Mack, Peterbilt, Caterpillar and more. We have professional technicians and our services and products are at fair prices. We have the least expensive on-site mobile inspection service and it’s very convenient for our customers to have us come to their location for this service, whether it’s for a whole fleet or one or two vehicles.”

Jim now operates 495 Truck Center and is dedicated to continuing his father’s legacy. “Before we owned 495 Truck Center, my father would be working on his own fleet at Cappello Trucking and people would come by with truck problems and he’d help them out,” Jim said. “My father always took care of everyone who rolled through the door. He was big on helping people and we’ve grown up with that example. My father and our family worked hard to develop 495 Truck Center into a place where we could continue to help everyone the way my father always had. We have a motto that ‘service is everything’. My brother Chucky, who operates Cappello Trucking, and I grew up working and helping out at the family business. Our father always said we had to work hard because nobody was going to hand things to us, and that we’d appreciate things more because we worked for it.”

According to Jim, many of the 16 employees of 495 Truck Center have been working with the family for many years and work the business the way Chuck Senior did: with honesty, professionalism, and quality service. While keeping the business up-to-date to address the needs of their customers and making changes as necessary, a live person answering the phone is one of the many ways Jim continues to provide the professional and personal service Chuck was so well known for.

“When my father was battling cancer in 2003, we all worked hard to make sure he didn’t have to worry about anything at work. Even during his cancer treatments, he’d come into work and after he’d meet with all of us to update us on his health, he’d say ‘business as usual’ and we’d get back to work. He taught us well so we’ve been able to continue our success and his legacy even after we lost him.”

Jim pointed out that the success of the business is due to a group effort by the whole family. “I’ve learned so much from my parents and I couldn’t do this without my family.”
