Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen has new vice chair

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen meeting May 10 was the first following the May 4 election, during which board members Moira Miller and John Lebeaux were easily re-elected to their seats in uncontested races. The board voted May 10 to recognize its members. Miller was also re-elected to the chair position.

“I think that the person best qualified to serve as chair is our current chair,” said Lebeaux, who has served as vice chair in the last year. “She has served as a good public face for the board.”

The board then voted to make James Kane the new vice chair. Lebeaux good-naturedly walked the “Vice Chair” desk plate over to Kane when the motion passed.

Selectman Maurice DePalo was also re-elected to his current position as clerk.
