Rennie enters United States Coast Guard Academy

Region – Alexandra Rennie of York, Maine, formerly of Marlborough, will enter the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London Conn., Monday June 28.

Rennie, a 2010 graduate of York High School in York, Maine, is the daughter of John and Hope Rennie. She is the granddaughter of Larry and Robbie Stier and Bob and Linda Rennie of Marlborough.

The Coast Guard Academy is the smallest of the nation’s five military service academies, and is highly competitive – less than 400 appointments are offered annually from a pool of over 4,000 applicants. Cadets receive a full-tuition scholarship and monthly stipend for a five-year service commitment to the Coast Guard upon graduation. All graduates receive a bachelor of science degree and are guaranteed a position of leadership as a commissioned officer in the United States Coast Guard.
