Local students receive academic honors
Region – The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2010 semester from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester: Jaclyn M. Jankowski, the daughter of Mary Lynn and Kenneth Jankowski of Shrewsbury, a third-year student majoring in pre-med and psychology; and Meagan Montesion, the daughter of Virginia and John Montesion of Marlborough, a second-year student majoring in biology and chemistry.
Jessica Lynn Jankowski of Shrewsbury has recently become recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honors Organization at Boston University. Sigma Alpha Lambda is a national leadership and honors organization dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and providing members with opportunities for community service, personal development and lifelong professional fulfillment.
Samara Yohai, a junior at Fairfield University, Fairfield, Conn., and a resident of Westborough, was inducted as a member of the Connecticut Gamma Chapter of Pi Mu Epilson, the national mathematics honor society. In order to qualify for membership, a junior or senior must major or minor in mathematics, rank in the top third of the class and have a 3.0 grade average in mathematics.
Yohai is the daughter of Beth and Mark Yohai and a graduate of Westborough High School. She plans a career in software engineering.
