“On the field, my mentality is to play as hard as I can at all times and to play with full intensity and never give up,” O’Connell said.

While O’Connell is not a team captain, she is one of Algonquin’s top-five strikers.

“Carly is a terrific athlete,” said coach Scot Taggart. “She works very hard when on the field, is aggressive and has been working well with the other strikers. I would anticipate continued improvement as the season progresses.”
