Fire Department warns of unauthorized survey

Marlborough – It has been brought to the attention of the Marlborough Fire Department that a company is calling residents and telling them that they are conducting a survey on behalf of the Marlborough Fire Department about smoke detectors and home fire-alarm systems. The Marlborough Fire Department is not conducting a survey, nor has it authorized a survey of any kind. Residents should be aware that this activity is probably designed by a company trying to gather information for sales calls or could be a “phishing” scam trying to obtain information about area residences.
