Shrewsbury – Donna M. ( Adua) Johnson, 54, passed away Thursday March 3, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Richard P. Johnson Jr.; a son, Matthew P. Johnson of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Melissa Johnson of Shrewsbury; her parents, Richard and Beverly (Capalbo) Adua of Worcester; a brother, Richard Adua and his wife, Deb, of Madison, Conn., and their children, Will, Sally, Rachel and Jon; her father-in-law, Richard Johnson Sr., and his companion, Toni Oster of Worcester; her sister-in-law, Paula Collins and her fiancé, Dan O”Leary, of Worcester and their children, Courtney, Casey and Chelsea; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Janet Johnson, and her brother-inlaw, Tommy Collins.
Born in Worcester and a graduate of Worcester North High School, she lived many years in Worcester, before moving to Shrewsbury in 1992.
Mrs. Johnson worked for Worcester County Air Freight for over 20 years in their accounts receivable department. She enjoyed the beach, reading, cooking and precious times with her family.
The Johnson family would like to thank the people at UMass-Memorial Healthcare and Rose Monahan Hospice Residence for their compassion, kindness and guidance throughout Mrs. Johnson's illness. A special thanks to their healthcare advocate, Kazia Reilly, for her compassion, care and friendship.
Funeral services were held March 9 at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel of Worcester, with interment at Saint John's Cemetery.
