Alfred J. Bouvier Sr., 98Marlborough – Alfred J. “Pepere” Bouvier Sr., 98, died at home Saturday March 12, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and productive life.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Joseph and Georgianna (Noel) Bouvier and the dedicated and faithful husband of Anita (Boisvert) Bouvier, who died in 1997.

Mr. Bouvier graduated from the Marlborough High School, the Class of 1932, and in 1936 from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston. He was about to celebrate his 75th class reunion this year. He was a former lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish. He was past president of the Marlborough Kiwanis Club, a member of the Dramatic Club of Marlborough's French Hill, the Catholic Order of Foresters, Marlborough Senior of the Year “2008,” and a past member of the board of director of St. Mary's Credit Union.

He was the former owner of Bouvier Pharmacy, operating on “French Hill” since 1900, and was a member of the Mass Pharmacist Association and the National Community Pharmacists Association.

He is survived by his five sons and their wives, Alfred Jr. and Margaret of Marlborough, Noel of Hyannis, James and Roberta of Marlborough, Philippe and Eleanor of Marlborough, and Thomas of Marlborough. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father-in-law of the late Elaine (Evangelous) Bouvier and the brother of the late Violette Lawrence, Dora Dessein, Constance Bouvier, Edward Bouvier, and Annette McDevitt.

Visitation will be held Wednesday March 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday March 17, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Bernadette's Church, Main Street/Route 20, Northborough, with interment at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery on beach Street.
