Northborough – Fifth-grader Mackenzie Rice travels on a tire swing during the March 15 session of the Ropes Course Challenge at Zeh Elementary School. For six weeks during gym class, students in grades one through five are challenged to achieve the next level of difficulty on the course, which also includes traverse beams, wall climbs and net climbs of various shapes and sizes. The project started at the school 12 years ago by physical education teacher Peter Sieurin, who retired last year. A new feature has been added to the course each year.
