‘Real World’ state champions enjoy send-off
Members of Team Pizzazz from Marlborough High School are honored April 11, with praise and accolades for winning the state competition in the Real World Design Challenge.

Marlborough – Members of Team Pizzazz from Marlborough High School are honored April 11, with praise and accolades for winning the state competition in the Real World Design Challenge. The team will head to Washington, D.C., where they will compete for the national championship.

Lt. Gov. Tim Murray presented the Governor's Cup trophy to Ken Hanson, lead teacher, coach and coordinator of the project, which sought to make a commercial aircraft wing more energy-efficient. Superintendent Anthony Pope, High School Principal Debra Roy, Mayor Nancy E. Stevens, City Councilor and state Rep. Steven Levy, R-Marlborough, along with business leaders from companies that sponsored the state competition also offered their congratulations.

Team members include William Andrade, Matthew Bailey, Rachel Dass, Alec Deveau, Jessica Mendoza, Christopher Ortiz, Nicholas Strella and Matthew Whitmore.
