Marlborough – The average Marlborough household will see an estimated tax increase of $225 for fiscal year (FY) 2012 after the City Council voted to increase the budget by 2.8 percent at its meeting May 23.

Today Marlborough is a busy commercial and political center located at the crossroads of New England. Back in 1656, it was a wilderness area of the English colony ruled by Native Americans. Pioneer inhabitants of Sudbury petitioned the General Court for the land they wanted to settle, which eventually became the town of Marlborough.
