Garden Club brings veterans tribute to Marlborough

Marlborough – After delivering remarks and laying a wreath, Patricia Poff (far left), an army veteran of Desert Storm, salutes with other local veterans during the dedication ceremony for the Blue Star Memorial By-Way, presented June 14 by the Colonial Garden Club of Marlborough (CGCM) at Women's Veterans Park. National Garden Clubs, of which CGCM is a chapter, has been committed to placing Blue Star Memorial markers in parks in honor of U.S. armed forces for more than 60 years. In addition to CGCM President Holly Evangelous, speakers included representatives of veterans groups, and city and state officials. The Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School Chorus sang the National Anthem and other patriotic songs.
