Local families welcome NYC youth

Region – After a couple of buses arrived July 18 at the Marlborough Moose Lodge, (back, center) 12-year-old Stephanie Russell of New York City is welcomed by the Pageau sisters of Northborough – (l to r) Emily, 11, Jamie, 7, and Amanda, 13. The Pageaus are among about 70 families in the Metrowest area volunteering with the Fresh Air Fund by hosting NYC youth ages 6 to 18 for a summer vacation. Host families are also in Hudson, Marlborough, Shrewsbury, Southborough, Westborough and surrounding communities. Among the activities planned are a Worcester Tornadoes game, a day at the beach in Wayland and a drive-in movie night in Mendon. For information about the Fresh Air Fund, visit www.freshair.org.
