Shrewsbury salutes veterans

Shrewsbury – Past Commander Don Gray of American Legion Ray Stone Post 238 (left) reads names of deceased veterans as a bell tolls during the annual Veterans Day ceremony, presented Nov. 11 by the Shrewsbury Veterans Council at the Everlasting Memorial.

Also representing local posts were (l to r) Bill Cummins, Mel Billings, Norman Vandal, James Dunlevy, Walter Kalczynski, Belton Wall, Roger Faucher and Ted Barber. Serving as master of ceremonies was Commander Fred Russell of American Legion Victor R. Quaranta Post 397, and speakers included Board of Selectmen Chair James Kane. A reception followed in the Shrewsbury Public Library.
