Residents are invited to join 2012 “Winning Wellness Challenge”Region – Looking to get healthier in 2012? If you want to drop 5 lbs. or 50 lbs.…if you want to learn what a healthy diet looks like…if you want to begin to develop a healthier lifestyle…then join a 12-week program for ages 18 and up beginning Jan. 18. The Winning Wellness Challenge (WWC) is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Northborough and Southborough in partnership with Northborough Recreation, Westboro Tennis & Swim Club and the YMCA Boroughs Family Branch, Westborough.

Formerly called Biggest Loser/Winning Fitness, the WWC program has been revamped to be even more fun and effective. Each weekly session will consist of a private weigh-in, followed by a motivational time and a discussion led by respected experts in the fields of nutrition, diet, exercise, lifestyle and more. After the talk, there will be a 30-minute exercise session (zumba, cardio, dance, resistance, etc.) led by qualified instructors.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to form a team of four to six members or can be placed on a team. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize, with numerous “wellness” door prizes will be awarded throughout the program.

The cost to join for the 12-week session is $60. The program will be held on Wednesday from Jan. 18 through April 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the cafeteria at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough. Child Care can be provided at additional cost.

One hundred percent of profits from the WWC will benefit a variety of community and international projects that both Southborough and Northborough Rotary clubs are involved with. For more information about Rotary, www.rotary7910.org or www.rotary.org.
