Shrewsbury Public Library hosts English Conversation Circle

Shrewsbury – (l to r) Kaji Kitada, originally from Japan, Majid Khorsandian, originally from Iran, and Xiaolu Liu, originally from China, attend the weekly English Conversation Circle at the Shrewsbury Public Library. Liu and Khorsandian currently live in Shrewsbury and Kitada is now a resident of Worcester.

Each Thursday, from 5 to 6 p.m., the Shrewsbury Public Library holds a conversation session for non-native English speakers to practice their new language skills in a safe, non-judgmental setting. The attendees discuss a variety of topics such as sports, current news events, and tell stories using magazine pictures to help them improve their English. They also learn the meaning of some American slang terms. Pre-registration is required. To sign up, call 508-842-0081, ext. 3 or email hrathnam@cwmars.org.
