North Grafton – Tufts’ Cummings Veterinary School will present a free concert this March and April. Admission to both concerts will be free.

The Joel LaRue Smith Afro Cuban Jazz Trio will perform Saturday, March 3, at 3 p.m., in the Agnes Varis Auditorium in the Campus Center. A pianist, arranger and composer, Joel LaRue Smith’s talent and commitment bring a unique passion to music. His music incorporates emotional and cultural diversities, traveling Afro-Cuban rhythmic patterns, from Jazz harmonic music to classical music, creating a tapestry of musical themes in his playing and compositions.

Claudio Ragazzi-Nando Michelin Duo will perform Saturday, April 21, at 3 p.m., also in Agnes Varis Auditorium in the Campus Center. Composer and guitarist Claudio Ragazzi has been writing award-winning music for film and television, scoring hundreds of projects and performing with some of today’s most respected musicians at renowned concert halls in the world. After a very successful career in his homeland of Uruguay, Nando Michelin came to Boston, attracted by Berklee College of Music where he continued developing his skills as a piano player and composer. His music has received wide acclaim.

Tufts’ Cummings Veterinary School is located at 200 Westboro Rd. in North Grafton. Plenty of free parking will be available for concert-goers. For more information on the concerts, call 508-887-4723 or email Elizabeth.gillis@tufts.edu.
