Donald A. Porter, 82

Marlborough – Donald A. Porter, 82, died Friday, April 13, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Pauline (Miles) Porter, to whom he was married for 57 years.

Born in Marlborough, the son of the late George and Robina (McCook) Porter, he lived in the city all of his life. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Japan, where he met the love of his life.

Mr. Porter worked in the construction field for different companies in the area, including many years with the Eastern Gunite Company. He was an avid radio control scale model flyer and belonged to the Worcester Radio Control Modelers Club, where he donated countless hours teaching and instructing others in how to fly radio control planes. He enjoyed many hobbies, with boating, fishing, and gardening amongst his favorites.

Mr. Porter was the loving father of two sons, Scott Porter and his wife, Edwina, of Uxbridge and Larry Porter and his wife, Jayne, of Royalston, and his two daughters, Robin Davis and her husband, Brian, of Uxbridge and Bonnie Porter of Marlborough. He was the loving grandfather of Christopher, Dana, Kyle, and Alec, and great-grandfather of Quinn.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home. No funeral services are planned.
