Mary M. Horan, 76

Northborough – Mary M. (Quinn) McNerny Horan, 76, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northborough.

She leaves her daughter, Kelly M. Burke and her husband, Michael, of Townsend; a grandson, Sean Burke of Townsend; a granddaughter, Katelyn Burke of Townsend; two brothers, Michael Quinn and his wife, Carol, of Shrewsbury and John Quinn and his wife, Eileen, of Sutton; a sister, Kathleen Prince and her husband, William, of Rochdale; and seven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two husbands, John “Mitch” D. McNerny, who died in 1963, and Richard J. Horan, who passed away in 2007. She was also predeceased by an infant son, John D. McNerny III.

Born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Tivnan) Quinn, she graduated from Ascension High School in 1953. She lived most recently in York, Maine, but lived many years in Rye, N.H., and was formerly of Ayer and South Dennis.

Mrs. Horan was employed at New England Telephone, Mass Electric, the Ayer Public School System, and Cape & Vineyard Electric. She loved spending time with her family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beaumont Nursing Home as well as the staff of Salmon Hospice Care for their loving care of Mrs. Horan.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 20, at 10 a.m., in St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main St., Northborough. A private burial will take place at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery of Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
