Joan M. Maguire, 83

Northborough – Joan M. (Dober) Maguire, 83, formerly of Hudson, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at her residence at Whitney Place in Northborough. She was the beloved wife of the late James D. Maguire, who died in 1998.

Born in Boston, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Barry) Dober, she resided in Hudson most of her life and along with her husband, James, founded, owned, and operated Atlantic Refrigeration of Hudson. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson and member of the A.O.H. of Marlborough.

She is survived by her children, Michael Maguire and his wife, Karen of Hopkinton; Diane Taylor and her husband, Jeff, of Hudson; and Joann Amberson and her husband, Jeff, of Northborough, and was the mother of the late Robert J. Maguire, who died in 1991. She is also survived by her two sisters, Geraldine Salvi of Stoneham and Mary Alice Dober of Somerville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James Dober.

Family and friends may attend a calling hour Friday, April 20, from 8 to 8:40 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Maguire may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the charity of your choice.
