Westborough police report break-in

Westborough – Police Chief Alan R. Gordon released the following statement:

On 4/17/12, at approximately 7:00 PM, the Westborough Police responded to a residence on Edward Dunn Way for a reported break into a residence. The arriving units found that entry had been gained by prying a rear sliding glass door open. The suspect had attempted entry through numerous windows which were locked.

Taken from the residence were cash, jewelry, an I-Pad, and an xbox. The break occurred sometime between Sunday the 15th at noon and last evening when the break was reported.

The Westborough Police are reminding all residents to make sure all windows are secured and doors are locked when they are away. In addition, residents should place a strong stick or metal bar in the track of all sliding doors.

The investigation is being conducted by Det. Steven Tompkins.
