Shrewsbury League of Women Voters to host Candidates’ Forum April 23

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury League of Women Voters has announced that it will host a forum for all candidates seeking office in the May 1 Annual Town Election. The event will take place Monday, April 23, at 7 p.m., in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room at Town Hall. The forum is open to the public, and it will be broadcast live by the Shrewsbury Media Connection.

Both candidates for one seat on the Board of Selectmen, incumbent James F. Kane and challenger Benjamin W. Tartaglia, will participate in the forum. Selectmen candidates will field questions prepared by the League of Women Voters, as well as questions from the audience.

Unopposed candidates for office will also participate, and speak briefly about themselves and their goals in office. Unopposed candidates participating include Christopher Mehne, candidate for re-election as Town Moderator; Jason Palitsch, candidate for School Committee; candidates for three seats on the Library Board of Trustees Laurie Lindberg Hogan, Carl Larson, and Beth Casavant; and candidate for re-election to the Housing Authority Richard Ricker.
