Northborough- On April 30, Proctor Elementary School in Northborough hosted an “Officer Phil” Safety Program, an elementary school resource program for child safety and community awareness. The program was presented by police officer J.T. Taylor and accompanied by Northborough Police Chief Mark Leahy. To the delight of the children, Taylor opened the show with a few magic tricks, then discussed the importance of making good safety choices.

“What do we wear when we ride a bike?” he asked.

“Helmets!” they exclaimed in unison.

Taylor stressed the importance of wearing seatbelts, walking on sidewalks and looking both ways before crossing the street.

This important and informative program has been presented to many schools throughout the state. For more information on the Officer Phil program, visit www.officerphil.com.
