Marlborough – The Friends of the Marlborough Public Library will present an “Antiques Appraisal Day” Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Bigelow Auditorium, 35 West Main St., Marlborough. Paul Royka, appraiser and auctioneer, of Royka’s Appraisals, Auctions and Gallery in Leominster, will be on hand to look over and appraise the items.

The cost of appraisal is $5 per item with a limit of three. No pre-registration is required, and the program is open to the public. Admission is free to view the appraisals.

According to Program Chair Peggy Ayers, this is a great opportunity for area residents to bring that “old mirror” from grandmother that is hanging in the attic and find out if it is really worth “something.” The four-hour span of time allotted for the appraising will give everyone interested a great opportunity to bring their items of interest for a really professional appraisal.

Royuka is a nationally-known fine art, antiques & collectibles expert with over 30 years experience. He is the author of several books and appeared on several TV programs, including Fox News and Antiques Roadshow. He has set many world record prices at auction, and has been an active member of the New England Museum association.

Refreshments will be available for sale during the event. For further information, call 508-481-7118 or 413-648-9663 or email writeathome@hotmail.com or rajohnson736@gmail.com.
