Westborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this afternoon regarding a three car accident that occurred last week:

On May 19 at approximately 10:41 p.m. the Westborough Police Department responded to a three car accident on Route 9 west at Speedway Plaza. The operators of the vehicles were identified as Craig N. Mitchell, 68, 135 E. Main St., Westborough, Christina M. Snyder, 25,  93 Peregrine Rd., Abington and Eunete Dossantos, 41,  8 Walden Dr., Natick. Mitchell was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Westborough Fire Department for non-life threatening injuries and was transported to U. Mass Medical Center.

The investigated revealed that a 2002 Mercury being operated by Mitchell was stopped at the lights at the intersection of Route 9 and Speedway Plaza. His vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2001 Mercedes being operated by Snyder. The Mitchell vehicle was then pushed into a 2008 Chrysler being operated by Dossantos.

Snyder was issued a citation for failure to stop for a red light. The accident was investigated by Police Officer  Laura Grasso.
