Project Graduation Westborough in need of chaperonesWestborough – Project Graduation Westborough is an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to provide graduating high school seniors a safe, chemical-free celebration event the evening of their graduation.

This year's event, which will be held June 9, will be held at Teamworks, 185 Otis St., Northborough. There will be entertainment, food, games and recreational sports, according to organizers.

Project Graduation relies on the participation and contributions of parent volunteers.? Each year parents of junior students chaperone the evening activities thus allowing seniors to party with their peers without the watchful eye of their “own” parents.? Volunteers are still needed to man the two shifts; from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.? Contact Faye Stadig at [email protected] for more information.

Parents and community businesses are encouraged to make a donation to cover the $15,000 cost. Each year families of senior students are asked for a donation of $35 to help defray the cost of the evening.
