U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz to be guest speaker at Shrewsbury LWV Annual meeting

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury League of Women Voters welcomes special guest speaker Carmen M. Ortiz, the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, to its annual meeting Thursday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 206 South Quinsigamond Ave., Shrewsbury.

Ortiz has dedicated much of her professional career to public service. Nominated by President Barack Obama, as the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, she was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in November 2009. She is the first Hispanic and the first woman to represent Massachusetts as United States Attorney.

The public is cordially invited to attend the Annual Meeting. The cost per person is

$30, which includes a catered dinner. Seating is limited, so please RSVP by June 22 to Kristin Oliveri at 774-239-7520 or bushelnp@aol.com. Checks, payable to the Shrewsbury LWV, can be mailed to 2 Broushane Circle, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
