Southborough Library hosts business speaker series June 27

Southborough – The Southborough Library’s INSIDE STORY speaker series presents Joseph K. Nunes, Administrative Executive Director of Southboro Medical Group (SMG) and a member of Atrius Health’s Board of Trustees, speaking on “Changes and Challenges in Today’s Healthcare and What it Means to You.” The event takes place Wednesday, June 27, at 7 p.m., at the Southborough Library, 25 Main St., and is free and open to the public.

SMG, a multi-specialty primary care group located in Southborough, with four locations and 80 providers, providing care for more than 80,000 patients in the MetroWest region, is a phenomenal local business success story: the physicians’ group has grown from three doctors to about 450 employees today in the past 17 years.

Atrius Health is a non-profit alliance of six community-based medical groups including Dedham Medical Associates, Granite Medical Group, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Reliant Medical Group (formerly Fallon Clinic), South Shore Medical Center, and Southboro Medical Group. Atrius Health has more than 1,000 physicians and serves about 1 million adult and pediatric patients in Massachusetts.

Topics to be covered include the accelerated changes in health care, how medical groups and institutions are currently responding, and what the future could bring – timely topics of interest to business owners and to healthcare consumers.

The Southborough Business Network (SBN) is a group of volunteers who work to connect the library with the Southborough business community. The SBN’s primary activity is the INSIDE STORY speaker series, a quarterly speaker series that highlights businesses with ties to Southborough. This supports the Library’s mission as being the center for lifelong learning in the community.

Please bring your business card to enter a drawing for a door prize to be awarded at the end of the evening. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call Library Director Jane Cain at 508-485-5031 or visit www.southboroughlib.org.

This event is supported by the Rotary Club of Southborough, Friends of the Southborough Library, Fay School, the Economic Development Team of Southborough and Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce.
