Shrewsbury’s White City Plaza gets a face-lift

By Bonnie Adams, Government Editor

Shrewsbury – The iconic White City Plaza is undergoing some extensive renovations this summer.

The plaza’s owners, Charter Realty & Development Corp. have said that they hope these changes will make the plaza even more of a pleasant destination for shoppers who wish to visit the many stores and restaurants located there. Some of these renovations include a new signal and improved entrance on South Quinsigamond Street, parking lot upgrades, ADA-compliant sidewalks and enhanced landscaping. And a new shop, I-Craze Frozen Yogurt, was just given approval by the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen to have a license to operate at the former Friendly’s restaurant.

According to the plaza’s website, (http://whitecityshopping.com) the work is anticipated to be completed by early August.
