“Take me out to the… courthouse?”

Northborough – Even though a purchase and sales agreement has been signed by a college baseball development program, the New England Ruffnecks, to buy the Indian Meadows Golf Course, it's not a done deal.

There has been a barrage of feedback from residents objecting to the sale and Northborough town officials are considering their options. The property includes 63 acres in Northborough, as well as buildings in Westborough. Because the land is classified as recreational and receives a tax break from the town, Northborough has the right of first refusal when the land was to be sold. There are some questions about when the town should have been notified about the sale.

Despite the dispute, the Ruffnecks have applied for a needed variance with the Zoning Board of Appeals, which has scheduled a public hearing on the issue for Monday, Aug. 6.
